Welcome to 8th Seattle South Asian Film Festival (SSAFF). Tasveer’s 8th Seattle South Asian Film Festival (SSAFF) is a 10-day film festival, spread from Seattle to Bothell, for people to discover, experience, and enjoy a range of South Asian films, workshops, and forums.
Aaina, which in Urdu means mirror, focuses on and celebrates the artistic work of and about South Asian women. This year’s festival includes film, visual and performance art, speakers, and conversations aimed at highlighting issues relevant to South Asian women. The spotlight event of Aaina is Yoni Ki Baat, which will be directed by Rituja Indapure.
The Aaina festival is produced by Tasveer, a Washington State registered non-profit organization. Tasveer is waiting for its 501c3 non-profit status

Tasveer invites submission of film and video works on subjects related to South Asia and its Diaspora. Short films, experimental films, documentaries, and narratives of any length will be accepted in any digital formats. The three-day film festival will foster an atmosphere of creative inquiry, filmmakers and audiences will engage in lively discussions, forums, and other collaborative interactive formats. South Asia includes: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tibet and its various Diasporas across the world.
All works must be related to South Asia and/or its Diaspora. This includes films made by filmmakers of South Asian origin as well as those by non-South Asian filmmakers that focus on a South Asian theme.
All works must be independently produced.
All works must have been released in 2010 and after.
