Rita Meher

Rita Meher is the Co-founder and Executive Director of Tasveer. Rita Meher has been with Tasveer since its inception in March 2002. She dedicates most of her time to Tasveer and oversees 2 major festivals Seattle South Asian Film festival and Aaina: South Asian Women Festival in the Greater Seattle area every year. Before diving full-time into Tasveer, she also worked as as a freelance video editor. She is the main editor of award-winning Bangladeshi documentary called Threads. She has a strong background in producing Government and Public television shows, made her career debut in TV in Japan, 1995. Rita made her first short film Citizenship101 based on her own immigrant experience. She was recently awarded the Seattle Globalist of the Year 2015, and Rising Star by Northwest Asian Weekly. She was born and brought up in India, and has also lived in Japan for 4years. She is fluent in Hindi, Odiya and Japanese.
