Closing Night Film Pataakha with Vishal Bhardwaj & After-Party at Canterbury Ale House

PATAAKHA: Based on Charan Singh Pathik’s short story Do Behnein, Vishal Bhardwaj’s newest film narrates the story of two feuding sisters who realize the true nature of their relationship only after marriage separates them.

Director’s Bio

VISHAL BHARDWAJ is an Indian film director, writer, producer, music composer, and playback singer. Born in Bijnor and raised in Uttar Pradesh, he attended the Hindu College of Delhi University where he was actively involved in theatre. He started out as a music composer and worked on films such as Maachis (1996) Satya (1998), and Chachi 420 (1998). His directorial debut was with the critically acclaimed Makdee. He is best known for his trilogy of Shakespeare adaptations – Maqbool (2003), based on Macbeth, Omkara (2006), based on Othello, and Haider, based on Hamlet (2014). He also directed The Blue Umbrella (2005), Kaminey (2009), 7 Khoon Maaf (2011), and Matru ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (2013).
