Celebrating Earth Month!

An evening dedicated to the environment, devastating impact of plastics, and small changes we can make.

Evening highlights include:

– Free docent tour of the Bellevue Arts Museum exhibition,
School: The Joseph Rossano Salmon Project
– Meet and Greet with special guests Bellevue council member Janice Zahn, Kirkland Mayor Penny Sweet, Kirkland council member Kelli Curtis, Redmond council president Angela Birney
– Panel discussion and Q&A with Mark Titus, Heather Trim, and Julie Colehour.

Bios of the Panelists:

  • Julie Colehour is a Partner at C+C, a 75 person communications agency that focuses on social issues. Julie has spent her career working to motivate people to alter their behaviors for social good. Her causes have included everything from organic farming and water conservation to green building, recycling and energy-efficient products. Julie is board chair of both the Washington Environmental Council and Washington Conservation Voters.
  • Heather Trim joined Zero Waste Washington as Executive Director in 2016 and works to reduce upstream sources of waste, get toxic chemicals out of products, reduce plastic pollution. She has more than 25 years of experience in environmental work. Heather Previously, at Futurewise and People for Puget Sound, she worked to prevent runoff from entering our waterways, improve shoreline management practices and policies and address a range of issues from community sustainability, habitats, and climate change. She works closely with a number of community partners in Seattle and throughout Washington and runs the King County ECONet list serve.
  • Mark Titus is an award-winning writer + director and founder of August Island Pictures in Seattle. He has made brand films for clients like: Amazon, Microsoft, The Nature Conservancy, T-Mobile and the United Nations Development Programme. His award winning documentary “The Breach” is about wild salmon. The Breach screened at over 25 international film festivals and in 2015 completed a 20-city national theatrical tour across The United States. He is currently directing The Wild – a new feature documentary examining the fate of Bristol Bay, Alaska and its storied wild salmon runs. The Wild is set for release in 2019.
