Join teen therapist Dipti for an intimate parent interactive session to learn some tips and strategies on how to engage in meaningful conversations with our teens\, in culturally effective ways. We will talk about the physical and emotional wellness of our youth. Come meet community members and have your questions answered. \nAbout Dipti Chrastka: Born and raised in Bombay\, India\, Dipti Chrastka is a licensed marriage and family therapist\, life coach\, EDI consultant and trainer. She has over 30 years of experience in the field of mental health\, youth and family support\, consultation\, individual and group therapy\, suicide prevention and Wellness support. She brings supervisory and leadership expertise at the organizational level as well as a deep commitment and passion for social justice and equity. Dipti has raised two adult children and is an Ethnic Minority trainer/specialist in Asian/Pacific Islander populations. DESCRIPTION:Tasveer Youth Collective presents Introduction to Hip Hop\nTasveer Youth Collective is excited to invite youth (11-21 years of age\, older ages welcome too) to participate in a Virtual Introduction to Hip Hop workshop. \nLed by the talented and well-known South Asian hip hop artist Ariv (Vozhi) Adiaman\, in this workshop\, you will learn about the origins of Hip Hop culture in the Black community and how Hip Hop has come to be one of the most important and defining elements of American pop culture. You will understand how Hip Hop connects to certain South Asian artistic styles\, culture\, and performance both currently and historically. \nVozhi will teach this highly engaging and interactive workshop. He will cover the five elements of hip hop and will focus on fun\, interactive activities\, and music creation. \nMaximum number of attendees: 50 \nRegister Now \nLink will be sent a day before the workshop to all registrants.

DESCRIPTION:Tasveer Youth Collective will be taking youth\, ages 11-17\, to the Museum of History and Industry to see the exhibit Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation. This groundbreaking exhibition traces the roots and trajectories of Indians as they immigrated from India to the United States. We also look at the rich heritage and cultural contributions of Indians and their families in the Pacific Northwest. \nTime: 5 pm-6:30 pm (meet at 4:15 pm at The Bellevue Riveter\, and we will return to the Riveter by 7:15)\nAdmission Fee: FREE (14 and under) / $10 (students/seniors) / $12 (adult)\nAge range: 11 to 17 years old\nPlease fill out the google form to confirm attendance. \nhttps://forms.gle/SPPbLewHXrxuYyaa8 \nParents are welcome to join us. We will be driving to MOHAI from the Riveter office in Bellevue\, and we can take youth who would like to join us. We will be leaving at 4:15 pm.
