Looking at development in the eye\, an ailing Madhav Chatterjee battles to keep his decrepit single screen theatre alive. His daughter Mampu tends to her father\, but finds him immersed in the past. The theatre contains within its crumbling walls an entire childhood and her most anchored friendship. Much like a river disappearing\, the gentle flow of memories are held ransom by demands of the present. Afghan cultural consultant Humaira Ghilzai will be the host for the day that will include presentations from all of the artists as well as poetry readings. Events include: \n\nConcert by world-renowned rubab player Homayoun Sakhi\,\nAn exhibition of rescued artworks by the artist-activist group ArtLords\,\nUnveiling of an embroidery project created by local Afghan women in partnership with Refugee Artisan Initiative\, and\nA presentation by film director and A Thousand Splendid Suns stage director\, Roya Sadat.
