SUMMARY:18th Yoni Ki Baat 2026
DESCRIPTION:Yoni Ki Baat has been cancelled.\n\nThe 18th edition of Yoni Ki Baat\, scheduled for June 4\, will no longer be taking place as planned. \nFollowing conversations with participants\, it became clear that there were differing perspectives that impacted the ability to move forward with the program in the spirit and format originally intended. As a result\, we have made the difficult decision not to proceed with this edition of the event at this time. \nWe remain deeply committed to creating spaces where South Asian stories\, experiences\, and conversations can be shared with care\, courage\, dignity\, and respect. We appreciate your understanding and continued support of our community programming.

The Long Way Home to Myself is the story of how I finally stopped running from the truth\, and started living it. \nJAB WE MET \nBy Kevin Shah and Paul Decker \nBefore they could fall in love\, Kevin and Paul had to find themselves—across continents\, closets\, and in the silent spaces between text messages. Jab We Met is a real-life romance built on patient pursuit and personal awakening—where one kept believing\, and the other learned he could finally believe too. \nREADY? SMILE. \nBy Tan \nSome journeys begin as an escape\, but inevitably become a return to yourself. In the unfamiliar streets of a foreign land\, I began to discover lost fragments of myself and the person I was meant to be. \nLETTER TO A FRIEND \nBy Kriti Gena \nKriti reads a letter to a close friend\, or is ‘friend’ the correct word? \nEVERYTHING IS FLUID \nBy Vinitra \nVinitra grew up in India for the first 25 years of her life before moving to the U.S. for grad school. In this piece\, she shares her story of self-discovery. \nDESI QUEER TASVEER \nBy Farah Nousheen \nFarah gives a personal and candid account of how Tasveer has been committed to the desi queer community from the very start when the concept formed in late December 2001. In this regard\, she goes through Tasveer’s milestones\, challenges\, lessons\, and visions for the future.   \nTo learn more about last year’s program and read descriptions of previous pieces\, visit https://tinyurl.com/yonix24.

SUMMARY:Pride Month Special- Tasveer Reels: The Lonely Prince
DESCRIPTION:Pride Month Special- Tasveer Reels: The Lonely Prince\nThis Pride month\, join us for an exclusive screening of The Lonely Prince followed by a live Q&A session with the filmmakers Shivin and Sunny. \nDate: Friday\, June 10th \nTime: 5:00pm-6:30 pm PST \nInspired by the lack of Queer representation in traditional Indian settings\, Shivin and Sunny decided to go back to their roots and create a new tale with a queer leading character. The Lonely Prince is inspired by classic fairy tails\, but with one twist- its the Prince that needs saving this time. The film is built around this idea of self-acceptance\, which the Prince has struggled with his entire adult life. \nDirectors Shivin and Sunny grew up in a time where homosexuality was not accepted\, even in their household. Not having any mainstream representation of their struggles on-screen only made their fear of acceptance greater. That is why the two created this story in the form of a folk tale with a hope for it to be sent down from generation to generation. \nRegister NOW!
