TASVEER YOUTH COUNCIL (TYC)
The Tasveer Youth Council (TYC) aims to inspire a social justice mindset in Pacific Northwest South Asian youth by critically and creatively engaging in politically conscious films, art, and storytelling. Through our programs, we aspire to create and sustain a fun, supportive, and safe space for our youth to build a courageous community, explore their own stories around identity and belonging, and work towards a just and equitable society.
TASVEER YOUTH BOARD (TYB)
The Tasveer Youth Board (TYB) is an initiative under the Tasveer Youth Council (TYC) to empower and give voice to local South Asian youth. Tasveer Youth Board will comprise 13 members, ages 15-18, from diverse backgrounds representing South Asian youth residing in the Pacific Northwest. We will have four annual events that will be planned and produced by Tasveer Youth Board members and facilitated by the Tasveer Youth Collective team. Our joint mission is to provide leadership opportunities for South Asian youth and build their skill sets in developing storytelling platforms in a fun, supportive and safe space.
