SUMMARY:Jashin: A Celebration of Afghan Arts
DESCRIPTION:Jashin: A Celebration of Afghan Arts\nSeattle Opera\, in Partnership with Tasveer\, presents Jashin: A Celebration of Afghan Arts \, a cultural festival highlighting the remarkable achievements of Afghan artists. Afghan cultural consultant Humaira Ghilzai will be the host for the day that will include presentations from all of the artists as well as poetry readings. Events include: \n\nConcert by world-renowned rubab player Homayoun Sakhi\,\nAn exhibition of rescued artworks by the artist-activist group ArtLords\,\nUnveiling of an embroidery project created by local Afghan women in partnership with Refugee Artisan Initiative\, and\nA presentation by film director and A Thousand Splendid Suns stage director\, Roya Sadat.
