Like many Indian immigrants, he intended to pursue the ‘American Dream’ but he had a feeling that he would not be able to achieve this stereotypical and often vacuous pursuit. Ignoring his parents’ wishes for him to remain an engineer, he leaves the security of his job to live out his dream: to attend film school.
