Representatives of some major production companies will be heading to Seattle next week for the second annual Tasveer Film Market, “North America’s first industry hub connecting South Asian stories with global executives.”

The 20th annual Tasveer film festival just took place in Seattle. This was a very special year for Tasveer as it marks the second year of the Tasveer market, and the second year of the Tasveer Film Center.

Now, with the arrival of its 20th anniversary, South Asian arts organization Tasveer is ready to debut the Tasveer Film Center to the general public during its annual film festival and market, which runs Oct. 8–12.

Seattle-based nonprofit Tasveer is expanding its footprint with the launch of the Tasveer Producers Lab, a mentorship program designed to cultivate the next generation of South Asian producing talent.

King County will send about $70 million in funding to 720 local arts, science, history and heritage nonprofits next year.

The inaugural Tasveer Film Market has unveiled over 40 projects selected from more than 300 submissions across India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, the U.K., the U.S., Canada and Australia.
